At this time of year lots of us feel energised to make big changes and set grand New Year’s resolutions that we know, deep down, we’ll be lucky to keep to the end of the week let alone last the whole year and yet we perpetuate the practice thinking that maybe this year will be the breakthrough! At times like this I am reminded about 2 quotes that I like:
“Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”
“Don’t live the same year 75 times and call it a life”
So, what are you going to differently this year that will give you different results? How will you make the most of this year and really move forward?
A big change occurred for me when I moved away from setting a resolution towards setting a goal. As author Karen Lamb says “A year from now you may wish you had started today.” Goal setting can be a difficult process to go through, however.
Thinking about what the right goal(s) for you are, making them clear, realistic and achievable all takes effort and experience. How do you set goals that will stick? I have found that the most effective way is to have a system that allows you to go through the goal setting process concentrating on the content of your goal without worrying about all of the things around it.
The system I use is a blend of best practice from many sources.
If you want to find out more about the system I use then please click here to join me for a free webinar that I am hosting on Thursday 15th January and make 2015 your best year ever! I look forward to seeing you at the webinar.
